Hi Sylvain. Thank you for your excellent piece on issues threatening our democracy. The Founding Fathers did not design our system for the society we would become. Southern politicians were (as they are today) emboldened by the electoral college and senate rules. Sparsely populated regions and states whose residents don't share beliefs, culture, and expectations of most Americans actively thwart the will of the majority. Our democracy is minority rule through the electoral college.*

Thank you for a great article!

Hi Allie. Thank you for your great article about low expectations. One of my three grown sons has a high-functioning form of autism. He's almost 25 years old and is in the Honors College at his university. Your writing highlights society's stereotypes and impediments to agency that people with disabilities endure every day. I contributed to a college textbook to prepare future teachers for issues you discuss, further compounded by diversity and immigrant experience. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I look forward to reading more of your work!
