Back in the first week of September, I went for a walk with another Indian-American woman, a friend of mine and a fellow mom of a son with a disability. It was 5:30 in the evening, and we were strolling in a large former nineteenth-century textile mill complex, now home to corporate offices in this Boston-area town, where I live.
